The SG901-1047 Kraken is an 802.11b/g WLAN assembly which includes an 802.11 radio module designed for easy integration of 802.11 into existing and new products with very little development time. Kraken supports a variety of interfaces for simple integration with most any user product. While more expensive, this module is ready for immediate integration and requires the least amount of knowledge of 802.11.

The SG901-1047 is a fully functional wireless radio running linux including a single-chip 802.11b/g transceiver, an ARM9 processor, flash and SDRAM memories, and a 10/100 Ethernet combo. The system is shipped running Linux and the OS source code ready for customer use. Application software and OS changes are supported through the Linux system source code provided by Sagrad.

The on board 802.11 radio conforms to the IEEE 802.11b and 802.11g protocols operating in the 2.45GHz ISM frequency band supporting OFDM data rates of 54, 48, 36, 24, 18, 12, 9 and 6Mbps. It also supports CCK data rates of 11 and 5.5Mbps and Legacy data rates of 2 and 1Mbps.

Kraken connects to the user system through a readily available 50-pin connector for power, ground and all peripheral signaling.

In addition to standard serial communications interfaces, RS233, Ethernet, USB, SPI, I2C,Kraken supports standard audio and camera connections as well.

Sagrad has created drivers for this module, please contact us for details on the status of these drivers.

Two open source projects exists to support this module. One is a open source protocol development layer, which enables customer protocols such as mesh networks and the other is a full 802.11 complaint driver. Please review information here.

The 802.11 interface on this product can support this GPL software but is shipped with the full 802.11 complaint stack. More information on the new GPL 802.11 Software Stack for this product.

Software and application support can be purchased from Sagrad to accelerate your product integration should you desire assistance from staff familiar with this module. All sources are provide for the OS and driver integration for the customer to support their products. The 802.11

Our product has a simple API to configure the Wireless parameters. This code can be used for any interface with some adaptation. The current demo interface is ethernet because it is simple to test. API for configuration.

SG923-0004 Kraken Eval Kit

The Kraken Eval Kit (SG923-0004) provides an easy to test interface board for the Kraken module. This evaluation kit comes with a power supply, RS232 connections, USB connections, Ethernet connector, TTL level UART and GPIO pins all connected via the 50 pin header on the Kraken module.

The tested unit is shipped ready to run and comes up ready to connect to an access point. Configuration application notes are available, please see the Kraken product information for details.

This eval kit comes with a Kraken module with a ready to use common connector JTAG interface for easy customer debug of OS changes, drivers or complicated applications and is designed to support rapid software integration into customer products.
