Sensoray’s Model 301-06 is a low cost, low power CPU board featuring a combination of characteristics required in most embedded applications using the PC/104+ form factor (3.8”x3.6”)
CPU
The AMD Elan SC520 processor running at 133 MHz provides the performance approximately equivalent to that of a Pentium 75. The board is supplied with 32 MB SDRAM and 16 MB flash disk.
I/O
The 301-06 has 2 serial (RS-232) ports supporting communication speeds of up to 115 Kbps.
Expansion Buses
Model 301-06 supports both PC/104 and PC/104+ expansion buses. It allows up to 4 external PC/104+ devices.
Ethernet
A 10/100Base-T Ethernet adapter is integrated on the Model 301-06 board. It is built with Intel GD82559ER PCI Ethernet controller. The drivers for various operating systems are available. The board is equipped with an RJ45 network connector.
Non-volatile memory
The 301-06 is supplied with a 16 MB flash disk which appears to the software as a regular hard drive. A socket is provided for an optional DiskOnChip (a 3V part is required)
Power
Only one power supply (+5V) is required. A power connector allows connecting additional power supplies (-5V, +12V, -12V) to the expansion buses, if necessary. Total power consumption of the board is 5 W.
Watchdog Timer
An I/O mapped watchdog timer can reset the CPU or it can drive an open-collector output to reset external circuitry. The time out value is 1.6 seconds.
Accessory Modules
PC I/O board Model 300TA: PC/104, 2 IDE, 1 floppy, 1 parallel, 2 serial, keyboard, and mouse.
SVGA board Model 322: PC/104+, SVGA, TV output.
Bus Buffers
The data, address and control bus signals are buffered with 16244’s and 16245’s. This allows stacking several PC/104 boards without degrading signal quality. This feature makes it possible to add five PC/104 peripheral boards to one 301-06 CPU. Most competing CPU boards do not have bus buffers.
Model 300TA | PC I/O Board
Features
A set of standard PC peripherals for 301-6 CPU board
2 IDE channels for up to 4 devices
Floppy interface
2 serial ports
1 parallel port
Description
Model 300TA is designed to provide additional I/O capabilities for the 301-6 CPU. Those include standard PC keyboard and PS/2 mouse interfaces, 2 serial and 1 parallel ports, a floppy drive interface, and a 2 channel IDE interface. The 300TA is a standard PC/104 board (3.8”x3.6”).
Serial Ports
Two high speed (up to 460 Kbps) RS232 ports are supported by model 301-6 CPU as COM3 and COM4. A 20-pin header pinout allows for an easy connection to 2DB9 connectors using flat cable.
Floppy Interface
FDD interface supports up to 2 floppy drives. A standard 34-pin FDD connector is provided.
Parallel Port
An IBM AT-compatible parallel port supports ECP parallel port mode. A 26-pin header pinout allows for an easy connection to a DB25 connector using flat cable.
IDE Interface
Supports 2 channels for up to 4 IDE devices. Two standard 40-pin connectors are provided.
Keyboard and Mouse
Two mini-DIN (PS/2) connectors allow connecting a mouse and a keyboard directly to the 300TA.
